The K-Pop music industry has been booming in success over the last few years, and I have never found enough interest in the genre to actually listen to it. For the past week or so, I got tired of listening to the same old music in my playlist, and decided to give the genre a try. To be honest I had no idea how this would turn out: firstly, I do not speak or understand Korean. Secondly, I'm not the biggest fan of bubblegum-pop. It's like listening to the Up All Night album by One Direction in 2012 all over again. With these thoughts in mind, I still considered to give it a listen because it never hurts to try out something new. I started out with the girl-group BLACKPINK, and I really enjoyed listening to the energetic, electronic song As If Its Your Last. Their music videos were really cool in addition to their catchy tunes. I moved onto the insanely popular boy-group called BTS. I ended adding a few of their songs onto my playlist, such as Euphoria. I did not like their recent single with Nicki Minaj called IDOL though, it was just not my taste. Overall, my first time listening to k-pop was more positive than negative, and I will continue to keep up with these artists and many more.

AuthorMy name is Angela and my life revolves around music. I realized that a song could tell a million stories, even multiple at the same time. My passion for it continues to grow every single day, and I want to share my personal feelings about modern music and my particular taste in it. Another day another song. Archives
