Korean-American artist Jay Park is not your average k-pop star. Although he may dabble in a little pop here and there, Park likes to maintain his focus on more r&b vibes in his discography. Listening to his most popular singles, I instantly fell in love with the guidance of my ears and soul. He is everything an artist should have, soothing vocals, ground-breaking dance moves, and nice video visuals. I first fell in love with his single Yacht, where in both English and Korean he expresses his eagerness to take a girl out on a wild tropical vacation. The song makes you wanna sway, and then break into dance, just as Jay Park does in his videos. All I Wanna Do is the one I fell victim to of course, the song was made for hype and hip-hop dancing. The song V might be the grooviest one yet, which incorporates a bit of Brazilian funk into it. He produces music with various interesting twists, which do attract listeners from Korea and the Western world. The fact that Jay incorporates both English and Korean in his music makes him easy to listen to, and he uses the influences of western-style music on his own, which is mainly based in South Korea. With all these characteristics flowing, Jay Park will surely remain on my music radar for a while, and he should be on yours too.

AuthorMy name is Angela and my life revolves around music. I realized that a song could tell a million stories, even multiple at the same time. My passion for it continues to grow every single day, and I want to share my personal feelings about modern music and my particular taste in it. Another day another song. Archives
